The 44th President of the United States

The chance to watch the historical inauguration of Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States, who is also the first African American president, was an exciting opportunity I won't soon forget.

Listening to his inaugural address to the people I realized that this is definitely going to be one of "the" great events that will go down in history that I can say I witnessed.

In all my years of skiing, snowboarding, and living near the mountains, I still cannot fathom how this very unfortunate incident, both for the man and the world, played out...

Random Acts of Kindness

On a snowy night with the side streets still covered in snow I am thankful for many things.  Tonight there is one in particular.  The kindness of strangers, three in particular.  My little car got stuck in the snow and without them I would never have made it to dinner.  At the very least, they made it possible for me to make it there on time.  

So thank you, strangers, for helping me out!

Well an evening with friends and family, at Zoolights and at home, good food, conversation and company. Can't really ask for much more when ringing in the new year.
