Baseball game

Well it was a fun night! Dinner out with friends from work followed by a baseball game. Jays vs. Red Sox! WOO HOO! Jays won 8-5!! It was a good game, lots of fun, and a ton of heckling since we were sitting a couple rows behind the Red Sox bullpen. I don’t know how some of the Sox take so much of it without reacting….I must say kudos to them!

A couple great things about the game: 1) five home runs by the Jays!! and 2) finding out there is someone actually named Coco Crisp (heehee)! So that is two in a row for the Jays – lets see if we can make it three!

Beginning of my week...

Well, an interesting day was had by me today. Woke up this morning to the news that transit had gone on strike. Sadly, I rely on this, and soon realized that I was not going to be able to go to work. Cabs were not available, and if you found one the drivers were taking advantage of the strike and were jacking up the prices. So with no transit, no car, and no cabs, I didn’t work at the office today. First time ever, I worked from home. It was good. Got everything done today that I would have normally minus the few meetings that had to be re-scheduled. It was interesting watching the news and hearing what people had to say – whether it was the workers or the public. Tempers are flaring…

The week again was started by a fabulous weekend. I went away to visit friends that I haven’t had the chance to see in a couple of years. Two late, late, late nights were spent catching up, sharing memories, sharing pains, and finding that regardless of how much time we spend apart we are both there for one another, no matter what. Through all of our visiting a lot became more and more clear. To top it all off was the car ride home when I was asked a question that I couldn’t answer. I couldn’t. I realize that I am being cryptic, but over time things will become more and more clear. Trust me.

Thank you so much for the weekend Suzi (pictured here with her very cute son Daniel) – you mean more to me than you could ever realize. Here’s to another weekend coming up very, very soon! :)

A little fudge, coffee, and Christmas...

Had a great weekend! Two friends and I headed to Niagara Falls on Saturday morning! It was great! We had headed across the border for a little shopping (got the best t-shirt and two pairs of great shoes!), dinner at BP's that night and then swimming finished off the day! It was great! I love swimming, and so wish I could do that more often. Will have to add that to my list:)

Sunday we went to the Aviary which was really fun. All three of us had never been so that was kind of neat to all go for the first time together. So many beautiful birds that were all quite active. Then we headed to the mall for a little bit followed by Mission Impossible: III. It was enjoyable. Your standard action movie with explosions, cars crashes, special effects and mystery. It was fun though - all you can really expect:) Then we headed to dinner and had a fantastic time at The Keg....mmmmmm, steak! A great waiter made the time there lots of fun and we were able to be as silly as we wanted! Pina colada's, steaks and salad, and a huge dessert with lots of whipped cream later we were all stuffed and ready to veg. Back to the hotel to relax and sleep.

Today, after breakfast, we headed to Niagara on the Lake. Beautiful, picturesque town. So cute! Did a little shopping and lots of looking. A little fudge, coffee, Christmas, a few rings, and a gorilla later we were on our way home.

It was a great weekend - and I have pictures to come...soon. Later this week! So far, with the long weekend away as the beginning to my week, it seems to be shaping up to be great! Thank you so much to you both!!

Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Had a great day today. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Decorated desk, cupcakes, great dinner, a FANTASTIC night last night at a friends, many unexpected gifts and I still have lunch and a movie tomorrow to look forward to, as well as dinner with the Grapes next week! Talked to many friends and family - was fabulous. Much love! I couldn't have asked for a better day! :)

Something I was thinking about...

With your intellect, you can solve some puzzles. With your imagination, you can paint some pictures. With your anger, you can force some issues. With your prejudice, you can ignore some realities. With your fear, you can dismiss some positive possibilities. But with your heart? With your love? With your humility? With your willingness to learn? With your tolerance, understanding, forgiveness? With that, and only with that, you can be guided towards something wonderful.

My inner bombshell

A fun, and shall I say accurate (*wink*), quiz that I took today :)

You're inner Bombshell is the beautiful Audrey Hepburn. Like her you've been blessed with a "certain something" that no one could describe accurately. You are more reserved than other bombshells, and that shows in your gentle, graceful nature. You like doing things for other people and love volunteering for your favorite charity. Yours is a rare gift in this day and age. You don't need to show a lot of skin to be sexy, all you need is your eyes.

Busy weekend...

Well another busy weekend has come and gone. Time out with friends and getting errands done. It’s been great! Spent the day with a friend of mine yesterday – had lunch, shopping (found things I didn’t know I needed, and now I have ‘emJ), exploring, dinner and a movie (Friends With Money – I quite liked it, reminds us to be happy with what we have). I also got an early birthday present – warm, fuzzy and green! YAY!! Thanks again!! This was a weekend I needed after the week I had and news that I got from home…a much needed distraction.

Another busy week ahead with evenings out followed by a weekend away with friends. I’m excited! So with that in mind I am re-learning a lazy day at home. Today I am going to watch movies, talk to friends and family from home (have to remember to call mom!) and do a little laundry. The movie’s scheduled are Twister (an oldie but a goodie), Ransom (have to have the drama), Baby Boom (I remember watching this movie over and over when I was younger) and Dude! Where’s My Car (I’ve never seen it, so I thought I would – mindless comedy is sometimes a good thing).

A friend of mine gave me a song earlier this week that reminded him of me. We do that from time to time when we come across songs that remind us of the other. He “gave” this one to me. It’s called Never Sweeter by Magne F. Beautiful song…

You were never sweeter
Than right before you broke
I was never smarter
Than just before I spoke

Nothing ever happens
Just the way we plan
All of us unfolding
Any way we can

A hand that hits across the face
Reads better on the news, but
The hand can strokes you tenderly
Can leave a bigger bruise
And nothing I can say now
Will be of any use

You were never sweeter
Than right before you broke
I was never smarter
Than just before I spoke

He's breaking my heart!

Stay with me
You're the one I need
You make the hardest things
Seem easy

Keep my heart
Somewhere drugs don't go
Where the sunshine slows
Always keep me close

If only you could see
The stranger next to me
You promise you promise that you're done
But I can't tell you from the drugs

Don't let go
We'll dig a great big hole
Down an endless hole
We'll both go

You're so blind!
You can't save me this time
Hope comes from inside
And I feel so low tonight

If only you could see
The stranger next to me
You promise you promise that you're done
But I can't tell you from the drugs

I wish you could see
This face in front of me
You're sorry you swear it you're done
But I can't tell you from the drugs

(take me) I need your help
(so far away) To pull me up take the wheel
(take me) Out from me
(so far away) Out from me

(Take me) If only you could see (I need your help)
(So far away) The stranger next to me (To pull me up take the pain)
(Take me) You promise you promise that you're done (Out from me)
(So far away) But I can't tell you from the drugs (Out from me)

(Take me) I wish that you could see (I need your help)
(So far away) This face in front of me (To pull me up take the wheel)
(Take me) You're sorry you swear it you're done (Out from me)
(So far away) But I can't tell you from the drugs (Out from me)

Keep my heart
somewhere drugs don't go
Where the sunshine slows
always keep me close

Niagara visit #2

Had a great weekend with a friend of mine from home. We got together Friday night after their plane landed. Lots of catching up to be done, went to Niagara Falls (they had never been - so we took a TON of pictures - hoping they turn out!), and a lot of visiting as well. It was so great to get together, talk about home, talk about life changes, and just have fun. We realized we aren't 12 anymore (which was sorta sad), when we were both not able to climb a tree that looked easy enough:) Definitely made a bit of a scene trying though! HEHE!!

Tomorrow we are going to a baseball game which should be fun! Got great tickets from my director at work, which turned out to be fantastic timing! GO JAYS! :)
