Can anyone tell me what this is? In layman's terms...
Mega cisterna magna.
Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.

Aurora Borealis
Otherwise known as the Northern Lights. A comfort to see on a sleepless night. I had forgotten - to an extent - just how beautiful they are.
Dancing in the sky.
Surrounded by so many folklore stories:
Whistling makes them dance.
The Inuit used the northern lights to get their children home after dark by claiming that if you whistled in their presence they would come down and burn you up.
Ancestors dancing around a fire.
Fires that surround the North and South edges of the world.
Reflections cast by large swarms of herring onto the sky.
No matter what you believe, they are stunning. There are really no words even. I tried, and failed at photographing them late last night. Tonight I thought I would grab a picture off the net to show you - but after looking at what I had to choose from I decided against it. They are far more beautiful than anything I could find. Nothing I could find shows their true beauty. I believe they dance when whistled to...I've seen it. It's hard to believe, but it's a fact.
I hope all of you will someday be able to experience them. Come visit me, during the fall, I can almost guarantee a sighting. It's worth the trip - in more ways than just this. :)

Mixed feelings...
Well...a strange day. So many different feelings. Finally got something out there to the person that I think needed/deserved to know (being that it involved them too) - don't know if they feel that way, but it's too late now:)
Started orchestra again tonight. Feels like I have a part of me back that was gone for a year. Music. There isn't anything like it. I cannot put into words how I felt tonight, back with the group, a little family. Totally overwhelming. Kinda pathetic but I was very overwhelmed, inundated by people welcoming me back, hugs, smiles, and laughter.
So...a piece of me is still missing - two pieces actually. And yet I got a different piece back. So confusing, so hard to decipher what it is that I'm feeling. Happy. Sad. At home. A stranger. Healing. Broken. More broken than naught though... Still waiting.
Je suis désolée
Lo siento
Ik ben droevig
Sono spiacente
Perdóname
Lei si preoccupa?

Rafting!
An afternoon of rafting is the best way to spend a Saturday... After picking up the raft and life jackets we were off! Four hours later, lots of paddling through a mini-storm with freaky strong winds out of nowhere, a couple off shore discoveries and a yummy lunch we were done. It's been so long since I've gone rafting, but the 4 of us had a great time and I can't wait to go again - hopefully we'll be able to squeeze one more trip in before winter:)
